Meet our Staff
Growing up as a preacher's daughter, I was taught very early on about the love of the Father. I came to know Christ as my personal Savior at the young age of six. God has proven His faithfulness to me throughout my life, even when I was not as faithful to Him. He led me to Texas where I met my husband, Chuck Miller. We moved to Spartanburg In 2004 when he accepted a call to serve as youth minister at Roebuck Baptist Church. We now have two daughters and a son that keep us laughing and constantly remind us to focus on the things of this world that matter. Our family's motto has always been "Love the Lord and enjoy life!"
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2 |
I grew up in church but never understood the personal relationship I needed with Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior. I thought if I was "good enough" that would be pleasing to God. Not until my early 20's, when I met my then-to-be husband, did the Holy Spirit break my heart over my sin and show how much He loved me! My husband, Brian, and our 2 sons live our lives sold out for Christ and want to share His love and Good News with those around us. We attend Church at the Mill and love serving His body by loving on preschoolers, teenagers, and the adults God has brought into our lives.
And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 1 John 3:23 |
I was saved at the age of 9 years old, but it was not until later that I got serious about my relationship with my Lord and Savior. As a mother of small children, my prayer life became more real and personal, but as a mother of teens and then adult children, it became a minute by minute dependency on the Lord. For the past few years, I have learned to lean on Jesus for my daily survival. I am blessed to be a child of God and I know He is not through with me yet. I continue to seek His face daily! I am married to Chuck Wallington. We have 5 children, 12 grandchildren . I love spending time with my family. Chuck and I are active members of First Baptist Spartanburg where we teach a multi-generational Life Group class. CEF allows me to make a impact for the His Kingdom. I am really blessed to be a part of the work of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Rachel is from Woodruff, SC, where I met and married my high school sweetheart, Chris. I grew up in a family that was actively involved in church, so I was exposed to the Gospel at a very young age. After many years of people sharing God's love and truth with me, I received Christ as my Savior, and I have never been the same since. Because of what Jesus did for me, I am redeemed, forgiven, and free. I live every day in hopes that my life points others to Jesus.
I am very passionate about 3 things: Jesus, teaching, and children's ministry. In fact, I found my love for teaching and children's ministry when I began working with CEF Upstate in 2012. When I am not working with CEF, I am teaching first grade at a local public school in Spartanburg and volunteering with the children's ministry at my church. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 |
Child Evangelism Fellowship plays a very important role in my life even when I didn't know it was CEF. I came to know the love of Jesus through a friend in the sixth grade. In middle school we helped with a backyard Bible club at an apartment complex in our neighborhood. When I was in high school, a few of us got together and started a backyard Bible club in another neighborhood. We used all of the CEF materials. Who knew? I went to Florida Bible College for a year and took the CEF training course. Fast forward, my husband, David, is the reason we first became involved in the Spartanburg ministry back around the time it started in the eighties. I later volunteered to help in the annual CEF fundraising auctions, and then I came on staff part time. My other job is court reporting. We are blessed to be a part of the GNC ministry at Roebuck Elementary.
