This is Us!
Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and local church for Christian living.
Mr. Jesse Overholtzer started this organization over 80 years ago because he wanted children to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He wanted to do that by offering an hour of weekday Bible study to reach children and build up the local church and their Sunday school classes. We continue his vision by using our two main ministries: Good News Club and 5 Day Clubs.
Good News Club Children meet with volunteers and have a great time singing, memorizing Bible verses, hearing cliff hanger missionary stories and learning from true Bible stories. Each club presents the Gospel message in a clear way so that children can understand what it means become a child of God. An invitation is given so the children have an opportunity to make an eternal commitment to the one true King, Jesus Christ. In June 2001, the US Supreme Court ruled that Good News Clubs could be held after school in all public elementary school buildings.
5-Day Club is a summer ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship. 5-Day Clubs are held in daycares, recreation centers, YMCAs, apartment complexes, neighborhoods and parks. The children gather together to hear exciting Bible stories, sing songs, learn Bible verses, listen to a missionary story and hear the Gospel clearly presented.
5-Day clubs are conducted by CEF trained youth, ages 15-21. These young people are committed to sharing the Gospel with children in our community for 5 weeks during the summer.
